SIOUX CITY | Cheryl Rae (Robertson) Banys, 63, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at her daughter's residence in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Condolences may be left online for the family at drbanys@gmail.com.

Cheryl was born on Oct. 7, 1951, the daughter of Bruce and Marilyn (Luft) Robertson. She graduated from Central High School in 1972. She had worked at Zenith Radio, All-Power Inc. and was a caretaker for Mid-Step Services for 20 years until her retirement due to ill health in 2014.

Cheryl embraced the challenges, rewards and lasting friendships made with the special people under her care. She especially loved the visits and times spent with her six grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, James (Raquel) Banys of Memphis, Tenn.; her daughter, Dawn Banys of Sioux Falls; sisters, Sue Anderson and Pam Robertson of Sioux City; brothers, Larry Robertson of Sioux City, Dennis (Liz) Robertson of Onawa, Iowa, and Steve (Lisa) Robertson of Albuquerque, N.M.; beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Jesse, Cody, Julia, Aly and Andrea; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents.
