In Memory of

Crystal J. Mettet (Roberts)

SIOUX CITY -- Crystal J. Roberts, 55, of Sioux City went to meet her Savior Thursday, June 3, 2010, at a local hospital after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Good News Baptist Church, 3200 West 19th Street, with the Rev. John Woodford, pastor, and Rev. Brad Hoff officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Crystal was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Joseph and Geraldine (Ruhrer) Mettet. She was a 1972 graduate of Central High School.

Crystal was united in marriage to Randy Roberts on Sept. 8, 1972, in Sioux City. Crystal worked for Sunshine Food Stores and later, with Northman Snowplows as a purchasing agent until 1995, when she retired due to health.

Crystal's enjoyments in life were her family, her church, and her dogs. She was not only a member of the Good News Baptist Church from its beginning, but active in all its activities. Giving rides on her wheelchair to the children of the church was always a highlight, and her infectious smile always seemed to lead to hugs from everyone.

Crystal is survived by her husband, Randy Roberts; and her daughter, Tonya and her husband, Travis Ulven of Onawa, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Eileen and Carl Ruhrer; and a cousin, Ray Ruhrer.

Memorials, if you choose in lieu of flowers, may be made in her name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Good News Baptist Church.
